Pros and Cons
Pros: Nice size screen for the price with nice clear picture. Takes movement without skipping. Battery lasts for about 2.5hrs. Comes complete with carry and carseat mount case, home and car adapter. Has worked with purchased and recorded (dvd-R) movies. Battery charges quickly.

Cons: Volume without headphones is very very low. Volume is ok with headphones. It comes with earbud headphones with a splitter so two people can watch at once but I have not used the ones that came with it. With my own headphones the volume is fine and the sound quality is good.
The dvd door is pretty flimsy. Due to this alone I would not recommend this unit for operation by a child. As long as you aren't abusive it should be fine though. The unit itself seems as sturdy as any of the name brands that I've checked out in stores.
Some features (like fast forward and turning on/off captions) only seem to work by using the remote even though there seem to be buttons on the unit itself. I do admit thought that I haven't bothered to read the manual and I simply may not have set up some features properly.

Overall I am satisfied with my purchase and it seems good value for the price.

Great value, perfect for the car with 2 kids
This DVD player has been perfect for what I wanted -- an inexpensive, 2-screen system for the car. For the actual player, I used my old case to hang on the back seat, because the case that comes with it I couldn't figure out a way to mount it so I didn't have to take it down to change DVDs. For the second screen the included case is fine. The cord is nice and long, too, which had been a problem with my old player. It doesn't play those Doritos-smudged DVDs quite as well as my home player, but picture and sound quality is good as long as you keep your DVDs clean.

this was the best purchase i have ever made. The seller was excellent. I had previously purchased an item on ebay and will never buy there again. Had an awful experience. Took me over amonth to get my product. The service here was excellent and the product which i really haven't used much yet seem to be working well and my grandkids love it. Can't wait to see how well it works on vacation next week. All i can say is AMAZON keep up the good work.

HOLY crap what a great DEAL!
I will keep this short and sweet, if you have an HDTV with HDMI input, and you dont want to spend a crap load of loot on Poo Ray or Hd DVD get this player. I bought this from a local retailer for over 10 bucks BELOW fifty, you can do the math. I wondered how it would compare to the Insignia and Zenith players that you can get at BB and CC for around . I took it home and proceeded to open the hood. After dropping screws down in my couch, I was sad that this doesnt have the Mediatek chipset which is considered to be the best LOW priced upconversion chip, it did however have the Zoran Vidalis 888 chipset that is also standard in the Zenith and Insignia budget players. So in effect I have the same player that most people pay between fifty and sixty bucks for quite a bit less than FOURTY!!! Not a bad deal at all.

I upgraded from a Toshiba SD-3950 which had SEVERE judder and motion artifacts in some sequences (noteable example when Picard finds Kirk in the Nexus in Generations) like grass and trees in wide shots and light coming through blinds etc. I also didnt have a fiber optic out on my old player. This player fixed BOTH of my problems while giving me closer to what my TV SHOULD look like even while enjoying my old DVD's! You DO need to have this hooked up with HDMI to pass signals over 480P, which is common in these players. I have 2 minor caveats, 1st this player has blue led's in the front that look rather stylish but could be a distraction if you watch movies in the dark. I have yet to find a way to dim or disable these manually. 2nd this player has an OBSCURE remote code. I have the One for all URC-8910 and even after upgrading and using the only Protron code that One for all had (SpectroniQ changed its name from Protron last year) I couldnt control ANY of my new players functions. I successfully programmed all my major functions into my learning remote though so all is well.

If you expect this to be close to HD or Blu ray you will be disappointed, IF however you are like me and like to get the best that you can WITHOUT breaking the bank? You will love this cheap player that offers VERY decent quality and results at a great price!

Surprisingly Good
Yes, this is one of those "no-name brands" that people are always warning you never to buy. I didn't buy mine, though - received it from a friend as a Christmas gift - and couldn't be happier with it. For a no-name brand, the picture quality is excellent! Like others have said, the audio isn't all that loud, but it's decent enough so that you don't have to strain to hear on the speakers, and it's a lot better through earphones.

At first, I had trouble figuring out how to charge the battery pack; I thought it had to be charged while the AC adapter was connected to the player, but finally figured out that the pack is charged alone. After that little mishap, I had no other problems with it. I'm not sure how much my friend paid for it, but it was well worth the price. It came with a lot of neat accessories too!
